Welcome to the Resource Center. There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about using your cannon.
The “hammer-strike” breech is defined as a brass striking hammer cantilevered on a boss-pin and attached to a string. The user would pull the string causing the cantilevered hammer to strike the firing pin. This is known as a “breech-loading” cannon barrel.
The “mallet” strike breech. This is defined as a breech containing a firing pin and button, the user would strike the breech button with a mallet (supplied) causing the firing pin to hit the shell primer. This is known as a “breech-loading” cannon barrel.
A fuse-ignition is defined as a solid breech (not removable) with a fuse port extending into the powder well at the bottom of the barrel. A piece of fuse is inserted into the port allowing the fuse to extend into the powder well. The user then uses a flame to ignite the fuse. This is called a “muzzle-loading” cannon barrel.
